Frequently asked questions — Nassau County marine electronics.
Do you reinstall electronics on used boats?
Yes — full system reinstallation is one of the most common jobs we do in Nassau County. Bought a used boat with old or missing electronics? We strip what's there, clean up the wiring, and install a current Garmin, Simrad, or Raymarine system. Full reinstallation on a used boat typically includes a new chartplotter, radar, VHF, NMEA 2000 backbone, and transducer — properly wired and integrated from scratch.
Can you upgrade my existing electronics without replacing everything?
Yes. We evaluate what you have and what's worth keeping. In many cases we can replace just the chartplotter or add radar to an existing NMEA 2000 network. We'll tell you honestly if something is worth integrating or if a full reinstallation is the better investment for your situation.
Do you charge extra for coming to Nassau County marinas?
Your first hour is $280 flat and includes travel to your marina (up to 30 minutes each way). After that it’s $140/hr billed in 15-minute steps — no separate trip charge and no 4-hour minimum.
Can you work on my boat at any Nassau County marina?
Yes — as long as the marina allows outside service technicians, which most do. A few boatyards require in-house mechanics for mechanical work, but electronics is almost always open to outside specialists. If you're unsure, call your marina and ask.
What types of boats do you service in Nassau County?
All recreational and commercial vessel types — center consoles, walkarounds, express cruisers, sportfishers, trawlers, and commercial workboats. We have completed electronics installation and reinstallation projects for Nassau County government vessels including NYPD and the Town of Oyster Bay.
How do I schedule a Nassau County installation or reinstallation?
Call 516-448-6221 or use the request quote form. We'll confirm your marina, discuss what you need, and set a time. For new installs and reinstallations over $500, we come out on a service call — $280 flat for the first hour, travel and setup included — and give you fair pricing up front before any work begins. Most jobs can be scheduled within 1–2 weeks.

Do you have experience with the specific conditions in Nassau County waters?
Yes. We know Nassau County waters well — the Great South Bay, Long Island Sound, Reynolds Channel, and offshore passes. Our installations account for the saltwater exposure, vibration, and UV conditions that are harder on electronics in this environment than freshwater use.
How do I schedule a service call in Nassau County?
Call us at 516-448-6221 or use the request quote form. We'll confirm your marina, describe what you need, and set up a time. Most calls can be scheduled within 1–2 weeks depending on season.
What types of boats do you service in Nassau County?
All recreational and commercial vessel types — center consoles, walkarounds, express cruisers, sportfishers, trawlers, and commercial workboats. We have also completed electronics projects for Nassau County government vessels. If it floats and has marine electronics, we service it.
Can you supply the equipment, or do I need to buy it myself?
We can supply and source all equipment, or install gear you have already purchased. Most customers let us handle procurement — we get better pricing on Garmin, Simrad, and Raymarine products than retail, and it simplifies the process. If you prefer to order yourself, that works too.

★★★★★
LIME installed a full Simrad NSS setup with Halo radar and Active Target sonar. Perfect install, everything configured before they left the boat. These are real pros — not guys who install and leave you to figure it out.
— Tom B., Mako 284 CC
★★★★★
Had an NMEA 2000 issue no one else could solve. LIME found a bad terminator that was causing intermittent GPS drops. Fixed in two hours. Would have cost me a week chasing the wrong problem.
— Gary M., Albemarle 280
★★★★★
Full helm rebuild — new StarBoard panel, dual Garmin 9" displays, radar, AIS, and autopilot. Cleanest installation I've ever seen on a boat. LIME is in a different league.
