We don't give ballpark estimates over the phone for complex jobs. We come look at the boat, see the existing setup, and give you fair pricing up front. That's how you avoid surprises. Call 516-448-6221 to schedule.

How we quote marine electronics projects
For straightforward work — a single display replacement, a VHF radio swap, or an antenna installation — we can often give you a solid estimate by phone based on your boat type and the equipment you want. These quotes are typically accurate within 10%.
For complex projects — full helm rebuilds, NMEA 2000 network design, custom dash panels, multi-display layouts, or boats with unusual wiring — we schedule an on-board assessment. That is a paid service call — $280 flat for the first hour, travel up to 30 minutes each way and setup included, $140/hr after that in 15-minute steps. We come to your boat, go through what you have, and give you fair pricing up front. We use that hour to work, not just to look.
Up front we go over: labor hours at each applicable rate, equipment list with pricing, expected timeline, and any noted complications. Every job is time and materials — those numbers are an estimate of scale, not a fixed price — and we don't start until you tell us to go ahead.
1. Call or Request
Call 516-448-6221 or submit the request form. Describe your boat and what you need.
2. Assessment
For simpler jobs we can price it by phone or from photos. For bigger ones we schedule a service call to see the boat.
3. Fair Pricing Up Front
You get fair pricing up front — labor, equipment, and timeline — before any work starts.
What to have ready when you call
The more you can tell us upfront, the faster we can get you an accurate estimate. Before you call, it helps to have:
- Boat type, length, and hull material
- What electronics you currently have
- What you want to add or replace
- Whether your boat has NMEA 2000 installed
- Marina name and slip number (for mobile calls)
- Your preferred timeframe (season, month)
If you don't know some of these — that's fine. We'll ask the right questions to get what we need.

Frequently asked questions
How quickly do you respond to quote requests?
We respond within one business day. During peak season (May–September), response may be next business day. Call 516-448-6221 for the fastest response — we answer during normal business hours.
Do I pay for the assessment visit?
Yes — it is a normal service call. $280 flat for the first hour, which includes travel up to 30 minutes each way and setup, then $140/hr in 15-minute steps. There is no 4-hour minimum. We do not give site visits away, but we do not waste them either: whatever we can get done while we are on the boat, we do. If all you want is a number, email photos and model numbers and we will price it at no charge.
What happens if the actual job runs over the estimate?
If we encounter unexpected complications — hidden wiring problems, corroded connectors, incompatible existing equipment — we call you before continuing and get approval for additional hours. We don't run the meter up without your knowledge.
Can I supply my own equipment and just pay for labor?
Yes. We can install customer-supplied equipment. Note that manufacturer's warranty coverage may be affected if the equipment was not purchased through a dealer, and our labor warranty does not cover equipment failure on customer-supplied units.

Every review we have ever received is five stars. We earn that by doing the job right — proper NMEA 2000 networks, marine-grade wiring, correct grounding, and installations that hold up at sea, not just at the dock.

★★★★★
LIME installed a full Simrad NSS setup with Halo radar and Active Target sonar. Perfect install, everything configured before they left the boat. These are real pros — not guys who install and leave you to figure it out.
— Tom B., Mako 284 CC
★★★★★
Had an NMEA 2000 issue no one else could solve. LIME found a bad terminator that was causing intermittent GPS drops. Fixed in two hours. Would have cost me a week chasing the wrong problem.
— Gary M., Albemarle 280
★★★★★
Full helm rebuild — new StarBoard panel, dual Garmin 9" displays, radar, AIS, and autopilot. Cleanest installation I've ever seen on a boat. LIME is in a different league.
