Marine electronics in East Hampton.
Chartplotters, radar, VHF, sounders and full helm rebuilds for boats kept on Three Mile Harbor and Gardiners Bay — installed right at your slip in East Hampton.
LIME is an NMEA Certified installer, and marine electronics East Hampton owners rely on is what we do all season. We come to the boat wherever it sits — the marinas along Three Mile Harbor Hog Creek Road, a mooring inside the harbor, Accabonac in Springs, Napeague Harbor, Amagansett, Wainscott, or over the hill in Sag Harbor. When you call, you get the person who does the work.
What We Install
Marine electronics East Hampton boats actually need.
East Hampton runs two kinds of boating at once. There are center consoles and express boats that leave Three Mile Harbor, turn east through Gardiners Bay and keep going — and there are day boats, small sailboats and skiffs that never leave the bay. Both want electronics that work the first time, because nobody wants to lose a summer Saturday waiting on a tech.
Chartplotters & Multifunction Displays
Garmin, Simrad, Raymarine and Furuno — single screens or a two- and three-display glass helm. Charts, sonar, radar and engine data on one network, laid out so the screen you need is the one in front of you.
Radar & AIS
Gardiners Bay fogs in fast, and the run back to the Three Mile Harbor channel at dusk is no place to guess. Dome and open-array radar mounted, aligned and tuned, with AIS so you see the traffic and the traffic sees you.
VHF Radios & Hailers
Fixed-mount DSC VHF properly wired to a GPS source so a distress call actually carries your position. Antennas, hailers and a second station at the tower where the boat has one.
Sounders & Transducers
The water in Accabonac and Napeague Harbor is thin, and the harbor channel shoals. Through-hull, in-hull and transom transducers picked for your hull and installed where they read clean at speed instead of clouding over.
NMEA 2000 Networks
A proper backbone with the right terminators, drops and power tap — the thing that makes the plotter, the engine data, the autopilot and the sounder all agree. Most of the intermittent faults we get called for on the South Fork come back to this.
Starlink & Satellite Internet
Cell service gets thin once you are east of Gardiners Island and offshore of Napeague. Starlink mounted, powered off the DC side and set up so the boat has real internet for weather, work and the kids.
Boating in East Hampton
Three Mile Harbor, Accabonac and Gardiners Bay.
Three Mile Harbor is the middle of it. The marinas run up Three Mile Harbor Hog Creek Road — Halsey’s, Gardiner’s, Maidstone Harbor, Shagwong, Harbor Marina of East Hampton and EHP — plus the moorings inside the harbor and the town launch for trailer boats. Everything from a 19-foot center console to a 50-foot sportfish sits within a mile of the same road, which is exactly why we can do a full day of work out here without moving the truck twice.
North of the inlet you are in Gardiners Bay, and that changes what the electronics have to do. Fog, a real chop when the wind opposes the tide, ferry and commercial traffic coming across from Shelter Island, and Gardiners Island sitting in the middle of the picture. That is radar and AIS country. Head east past Napeague and you are on the edge of the Montauk grounds, where the sounder and the plotter earn their keep.
Then there is the shallow side. Accabonac Harbor in Springs and Napeague Harbor are skinny, marshy water where a foot matters and a transducer that reads late is worse than no transducer at all. We install for the water the boat actually runs in, not for a catalog photo.
Our East Hampton service area covers the whole town and the water around it — Three Mile Harbor, Springs and Accabonac, Amagansett, Napeague, Wainscott, and Sag Harbor on the bay side, which is a fifteen-minute hop from Three Mile Harbor Road and gets booked on the same run east. Montauk, Shelter Island and the rest of Suffolk County are covered too.
How It Works
How a marine electronics East Hampton visit works.
Six steps, no surprises. The whole point is one trip east with the right parts on the truck.
1. You call or email
Tell us the boat, where it sits in East Hampton, and what you want it to do. Photos of the helm and the model numbers of what is on there now save a trip and save you money.
2. We scope it and price it
You get the scale of the job in writing — time and materials, never a fixed price. $280 for the first hour, $140/hr after in 15-minute steps, parts at cost plus markup, and the travel number for the run east, stated up front.
3. We bring the parts with us
LIME supplies everything we install. Gear is ordered, bench-checked and loaded before we leave Amityville, because “we will come back with the bracket” is not a plan when the boat is 73 miles away.
4. We install at your boat
At the slip, on the mooring, on the lift or on the trailer. Wiring to ABYC standards, proper terminals and support, labelled runs — work that the next person to open the console can follow.
5. We commission and sea trial
Radar aligned, sounder tuned, network checked end to end, charts and software updated, and the screens set up the way you actually use them. Then we show you how to drive it.
6. You are covered
60-day labor warranty on everything we do; equipment carries the manufacturer’s warranty. If something needs a second look, you call the same person who installed it.
Common Jobs
What East Hampton owners call us for.
Some of it is planned refit work over the winter. A lot of it is the thing that quit on the way back in.
Helm Rebuilds
Old pods and cracked dashes out, a new panel cut to fit the screens you are actually buying, wiring re-run behind it. The most common upgrade on boats that are ten to twenty years old and otherwise perfectly good.
Electronics That Quit
Screen goes dark, sounder drops out at speed, plotter loses the heading. Nine times out of ten it is power, a corroded connection or a network that was never terminated properly — and we find it rather than throwing parts at it.
Radar Added To An Existing Helm
Mounting a dome or open array on a hardtop or mast, running the cable cleanly and getting it talking to a plotter that is already on board. Very popular with anyone who has been caught out in Gardiners Bay fog once.
Corrosion & Wiring Repair
Salt air on the East End is patient. Green terminals, chafed runs, butt splices from a previous owner. We replace what is tired instead of building on top of it.
New Boat Commissioning
Bought a boat and want it set up properly before the season? Plotter, radar, VHF, sounder, cameras and networking done in one planned visit, so the first weekend is spent on the water instead of in the console.
Batteries, Charging & Power
Modern glass helms pull real current. Lithium conversions, charging, bus work and DC distribution done off the house bank — we stay on the DC side and leave AC panel work to a licensed electrician.

Why LIME
The drive east, priced honestly.
Our shop is in Amityville. Three Mile Harbor Road is about 73 miles and an hour and forty minutes away on a good day, and a good deal longer on a July Friday. Plenty of installers quietly bury that in a padded quote. We do not. The first 30 minutes each way is inside the $280 first hour; past that, extra travel is $40 per half hour per man, door to door, and you know the number before we leave.
What that distance really buys you is discipline. We plan an East Hampton job so it finishes in one visit — parts checked and loaded before we roll, the helm layout worked out in advance, spares for the connectors that always turn out to be wrong. No four-hour minimum, no trip fee, no setup line on top of the first hour, and no fixed-price fiction: everything is time and materials, and you pay for the time actually worked.
You also get the same person every time. NMEA Certified MEI, ABYC electrical standards, fully insured, Empire Wind NETP approved vendor, 60-day labor warranty. The phone number on this page is the installer’s.

★★★★★ AJ S.
“I was having a problem with my electronics on my boat. I had tried getting an appointment with several other companies, but could not get anyone to come down and take a look. When I contacted LIME I got Dave the owner on the phone and he was very knowledgeable. He was able to come out the same day I called to get an appointment and was able to diagnose the problem right away. I would absolutely use them again.”
★★★★★ Vanessa O.
“David is the ultimate professional. He installed a new radar and AIS on our boat in up state New York. He knows all the systems and is able to troubleshoot and provide solutions. No job is too big or too small. Highly recommend him!”
★★★★★ Michael B.

What does marine electronics installation cost in East Hampton?
All work is time and materials — we never quote a firm fixed price. Labor is $280 for the first hour (travel up to 30 minutes each way included), then $140/hr billed in 15-minute steps, with no four-hour minimum. Parts are billed at cost plus markup. You get fair pricing up front so you know the scale of the job before we start, and you only pay for the time actually worked.
East Hampton is a long drive from you — how is travel billed?
Honestly, and up front. Our shop is in Amityville, and Three Mile Harbor Road is about 73 miles east — roughly an hour and forty minutes each way without traffic, longer on a summer Friday. The first 30 minutes each way is already inside the $280 first hour. Beyond that, extra travel is $40 per half hour per man, door to door. We tell you the number before we roll, and we plan the trip so the job gets done in one visit instead of two.
Can you install while my boat stays in the water at Three Mile Harbor?
Almost always. Chartplotter, radar, VHF, sounder and NMEA 2000 work happens right where the boat sits — at Halsey’s, Gardiner’s, Maidstone Harbor, Shagwong, Harbor Marina or on a mooring in the harbor. Only a through-hull transducer or heavy dash fabrication is easier with the boat hauled or at a bench, and we tell you that up front rather than after we arrive.
Which brands do you install?
Garmin, Simrad, Raymarine, Furuno, Icom, Fusion and more. LIME supplies all equipment we install — we do not fit customer-supplied gear, because we cannot warranty hardware we did not source.
How long does an East Hampton job take?
A single chartplotter or VHF swap is usually one visit. A full helm with plotter, radar, sounder and an NMEA 2000 backbone is typically one to two days, and each day starts with its own first-hour rate. We give you a realistic timeline up front rather than a best case.
Are you certified and insured?
Yes — NMEA Certified MEI, working to ABYC electrical standards, fully insured, and an Empire Wind NETP approved vendor. Labor carries a 60-day warranty; equipment carries the manufacturer’s warranty.
Does LIME supply the equipment?
Yes, and only equipment we supply. We do not install customer-supplied gear, because we cannot stand behind hardware we did not source. Telling us the boat, the helm layout and what you want it to do lets us bring the right parts east on the first trip.
