Mobile marine electronics service across Long Island.
We come to your boat at marinas across Nassau County and Suffolk County. NMEA certified technicians, portal-to-portal billing, 4-hour minimum.
Not every boat can or should leave the water for electronics work. We bring a fully equipped service van to your marina. Whether you need a chartplotter installed, a wiring issue diagnosed, or a full helm rebuild, we do it at your slip — no hauling, no yard time, no hassle.
How mobile marine electronics service works
We schedule a time at your marina, bring everything we need to complete the job, and work at your slip. For most installations, we need shore power access (30A or 50A) and room to work around the helm.
All work is billed portal-to-portal — meaning we start the clock when we leave our location and stop it when we return. Travel time to your marina is part of the bill, but there's no separate trip charge or fuel surcharge. The minimum is 4 hours for any mobile service call.
Before scheduling, we discuss the job by phone so we arrive prepared. For larger jobs like full helm rebuilds or custom panel work, we may visit first for a free assessment before committing to a schedule.

Frequently asked questions
Do you need shore power to work on my boat at the marina?
Yes, for most installations. Running tools, testing electronics, and charging equipment all require 30A or 50A shore power. If your slip doesn't have power, we can often use a generator — discuss this when you schedule.
How do you handle jobs that take more than one day?
Multi-day jobs are scheduled in advance. We return the next day and continue from where we stopped. Each day is billed portal-to-portal. For large projects like full helm rebuilds, we'll estimate total hours before we start.
Can I get a quote before scheduling?
Yes. Call us at 516-448-6221 and describe the job. For anything beyond a simple swap, we may schedule a quick free assessment visit first so we can give you an accurate estimate. We don't bill for assessment visits on new jobs.
What is the 4-hour minimum?
The minimum billing is 4 hours for any service call, including travel. This reflects the reality that even quick jobs require setup, travel, and wrap-up time. For jobs that genuinely run shorter than 4 hours of on-site time, you're still billed for the 4-hour minimum.

★★★★★
LIME installed a full Simrad NSS setup with Halo radar and Active Target sonar. Perfect install, everything configured before they left the boat. These are real pros — not guys who install and leave you to figure it out.
— Tom B., Mako 284 CC
★★★★★
Had an NMEA 2000 issue no one else could solve. LIME found a bad terminator that was causing intermittent GPS drops. Fixed in two hours. Would have cost me a week chasing the wrong problem.
— Gary M., Albemarle 280
★★★★★
Full helm rebuild — new StarBoard panel, dual Garmin 9" displays, radar, AIS, and autopilot. Cleanest installation I've ever seen on a boat. LIME is in a different league.

Transparent labor rates — no surprises.
LIME publishes labor rates publicly. We believe that transparency builds trust, saves time in the quote process, and allows boat owners to make informed decisions before picking up the phone.
