Custom dash panel fabrication and installation on Long Island.
We design and build custom marine dash panels for center consoles, walkarounds, and express cruisers. Flush-mounted electronics, clean switch layout, properly wired helm.
Dash panel fabrication starts with your boat and what you want installed. We template the helm, design the layout, cut and finish the panel, mount your electronics, and wire everything to ABYC standards — all at your marina across Nassau County and Suffolk County.

What a custom dash panel installation includes
Dash panel work ranges from adding a single flush-mount cutout to a complete helm redesign — new panel material, all new display openings, switch panel layout, and a fully rewired helm. We fabricate in StarBoard (marine-grade HDPE), marine aluminum, fiberglass, and carbon fiber depending on the application and the look you want.
- Dash panel fabrication — StarBoard HDPE, aluminum, fiberglass, carbon fiber
- Flush-mount cutouts for Garmin, Simrad, and Raymarine displays — 7" to 24"
- Switch panel installation and engraved labeling
- Full helm layout redesign and dash panel rebuild
- Garmin GPSMAP, Simrad NSS, and Raymarine Axiom Pro flush-mount builds
- Instrument pod and bracket mounting
- Cable management and full wiring cleanup behind the dash panel
- VHF radio and stereo flush-mount installation
- USB, 12V outlet, and night lighting installation
- Full wiring harness replacement to ABYC standards where needed
From assessment to finished dash panel installation
Every dash panel project starts with a helm assessment. We look at your existing layout, what electronics are going in, cable routing paths, and what the finished dash panel needs to look like. For simple cutout additions we work at the boat. For full dash panel fabrication jobs we may bring the panel to the shop and return it finished.
1. Helm Assessment
We measure the helm, document existing electronics, and map the cable routing paths through the console. Layout decisions happen here — before any cutting.
2. Dash Panel Fabrication
Panel material is templated, cut, and finished to spec — precise display cutouts, clean edges, and any engraving for switch labels. All fabrication is done to fit your specific helm.
3. Installation and Wiring
Electronics are mounted, wired to ABYC marine electrical standards, and fully tested before we leave. Tinned wire, waterproof connectors, properly rated fuses, labeled circuits throughout.

Dash panel fabrication for every helm layout on Long Island.
We build custom dash panels for the most common boat types on Long Island Sound, the South Shore bays, and offshore. Every helm is different — panel work is always built to fit your specific console, not a generic template.
Center Console Dash Panels
Center consoles are the most common dash panel project we see. Flush-mounted Garmin GPSMAP or Simrad NSS displays, clean switch panel layout, and organized wiring through the console — all built to hold up to a wet, open-air helm.
Walkaround & Express Cruiser Panels
Enclosed helms on walkarounds and express cruisers often have more space — and more complexity. We handle dual or triple display builds, autopilot controls, VHF, stereo, and instrument clusters all integrated into one clean dash panel.
Sportfisher & Viking Helm Panels
Large offshore sportfishers demand the most from a dash panel build — multiple large-format displays, radar controls, FLIR, AIS, and full NMEA 2000 backbone. Raymarine Axiom Pro and Garmin GPSMAP 9000-series flush-mount builds are our most complex and most satisfying projects.
Common questions about dash panel fabrication and installation
What materials do you use for dash panel fabrication?
We use StarBoard (marine-grade HDPE) for most dash panel builds — UV-stable, rot-proof, and cuts cleanly for precise display cutouts. Marine-grade aluminum for high-performance applications. Fiberglass for custom builds where matching existing boat material matters. We recommend the right material for your specific helm and use case.
Can you add a flush-mount cutout to my existing dash panel?
Yes. Adding a flush-mount cutout for a new chartplotter to an existing dash panel is one of the most common jobs we do. We template the opening precisely, cut it clean, and finish the edge so it looks factory. The display mounts flush with the panel face — no surface mount bracket.
How long does a dash panel installation take?
A single display cutout addition: 2–4 hours. A full dash panel fabrication and installation with multiple displays, switch panel, and wiring: 1–3 days. We give you a written timeline estimate before starting and keep you updated on multi-day builds.
Do you handle the wiring or just the dash panel?
We handle the full project — panel fabrication, display mounting, switch installation, and all wiring behind the panel. A finished dash panel installation from LIME means the helm is fully wired, every switch is labeled, and everything is tested before we leave the boat.
Five-star reviews from Long Island boat owners.
★★★★★
Full helm panel rebuild on my Formula 37 — new StarBoard dash panel, dual Raymarine Axiom Pro displays flush-mounted, clean switch layout, and fully rewired. The helm looks like it came from the factory this way. LIME is the real deal.
— Adam B., Formula 37ft
★★★★★
Had a cluttered center console dash that made no sense. LIME rebuilt the whole panel — new cutouts for a Garmin GPSMAP 9" and a second display, organized switch panel, and ran all new wiring. Two days at my slip in Freeport. Clean and professional start to finish.
— Mike T., Tidewater 28 CC
★★★★★
Viking 62 electronics overhaul — LIME fabricated a complete new helm panel and integrated every system from scratch. These guys handle big boats and they know what they're doing. NMEA certified, ABYC wiring throughout. Best money I've spent on this boat.
— Rich F., Viking 62 Sportfish
